FROM GRAPHICS TO FASHION VIDEOS: ZAIBA JABBAR!

Zaiba Jabbar is a self-taught filmmaker living in London.
Zaiba studied graphic design at Central Saint Martins but has only one love and that is for moving image.
When asked “Could you briefly summarize your career?” she answers “Liked graphic design, didn’t like graphic design. Love sound and image – found film making. Will never look back!”. One of two winners of the ASVOFF and Vogue Italia Light Series competition’s in Milan for her video for William Richard Green, Zaiba has worked with a number of commercial brands and smaller fashion labels which include Aquascutum, Mulberry, Levis, Hint Magazine, Spring69, New look, David David, Hermione De Paula, Bordelle and Charlie Le Mindu. Zaiba’s work is often featured and contributes to Vogue Italia, Vice Style, Fashion 156, Dazed Digital and i-D online.

TALKING TO A MASTER: ARTIST AND DESIGNER JULIE VERHOEVEN!

Fashion and art: Julie Verhoeven knows better than most about how these two worlds work!
Julie is a multi-disciplined designer and her work is known for its exquisitely avant-garde quality and surreal composition.
After graduating from Medway University, UK, in 1987, Verhoeven started out as John Galliano’s first design assistant, then went on to work as design consultant for Martin Sitbon and was head designer for Gibo. Her collaboration with Louis Vuitton in 2003 was a huge success and her recent commissions include collaborations with H&M, Mulberry, Marella, Versace, Lancome, Topshop, Nick Knight’s SHOWstudio and Sketch, as well as music projects with Primal Scream and Fischerspooner.
Verhoeven has exhibited internationally since 2003, including solo shows at MU (Eindhoven), ZINGERpresents (Amsterdam) and Vera Gliem (Cologne) with the publication of 3 books dedicated to her work “A Bit of Rough”, “Fat-Bottomed Girls” and “Julie Verhoeven, Gas Book 13″.
Last but not least, Julie Verhoeven has contributed to publications such as Dazed & Confused, The Sunday Times, Self Service, Vogue Italy, Tank and The Face, and will soon become a regular contributor for Vogue.com.
